Broiled Garlic Tilapia

While we understand that sometimes you’re on the go and need to reach for quick snacks and weight loss products, when you do have a little time, try to make some meals at home. This low carb recipe for Broiled Garlic Tilapia is super easy to make and equally delicious. 

When it comes to weight loss, tilapia is an excellent choice, as it’s loaded with lean protein but is low in both calories and fats. Just one serving contains more than 15% of our daily protein requirement. Lean protein is very filling and promotes healthy digestion, while helping us to build more lean muscle mass. In addition, tilapia is loaded with a wealth of other nutrients, including omega 3 fatty acids, which also helps to fill us up and benefits our cardiovascular health. Tilapia is also a good sources of potassium, selenium, niacin phosphorous, vitamin B12, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid.

Serve this tasty dish with some nutritious green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, Brussels sprouts or collard greens, or some colorful choices such as squash, zucchini, carrots or cauliflower.

6 tilapia fillets
2 cloves garlic, crushed
3 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp basil
1 lemon
1/8 tsp celery salt
Himalayan sea salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Line a broiler pan with tin foil and arrange the filets evenly across it. Season the filets with the basil, celery salt, Himalayan sea salt and freshly ground pepper. Spoon the crushed garlic over each filet and then drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.  Squeeze the lemon juice over the filets and serve.

Makes 6 servings
