Low Carb Hamburger Salad

Craving a burger? Why not try this Low Carb Burger Salad to satisfy that craving without cheating on your weight loss program? The only thing missing is the bun—and this salad is so filling and packed with flavor, we’re pretty sure you won’t miss it.

This salad is loaded with protein, fiber and antioxidants, but lacks the carbs that make a burger so sinful. Choose lean ground beef or turkey to provide an excellent source of protein that fills you up and helps build lean muscle. The lettuce and other vegetables provide the fiber that is essential for success with your weight loss program. Avocado is a rich source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fatty acids, potassium, fiber and vitamin C, E and K. The tomatoes contain high levels of vitamins and potent antioxidants such as beta-carotene and lycopene.

1 lb lean, grass-fed ground beef or turkey
4 cups chopped lettuce of your choice
4 dill pickle spears, cubed
1 whole red onion, chopped
4 ounce Hass avocado, cubed
4 whole Roma tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup reduced-fat, sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

1/4 cup light mayonnaise
1 tsp dill pickle juice
