When it comes to dieting, lean protein sources such as chicken are ideal. It’s considered a complete protein source because it has all of the nine essential amino acids our bodies need to build muscle. Chicken helps build lean muscle, which increases the number of calories our bodies burn on a daily basis. Chicken is also an excellent course of mood-boosting nutrients including vitamin B5 and tryptophan.

The bell peppers in this recipe are packed with immunity-boosting vitamin C and an array of powerful phytochemicals and carotenoids, including beta-carotene, lycopene and vitamin E. The red chili pepper contains capsaicin, an alkaloid compound that gives it a spicy flavor and has been shown to boost metabolism. The fresh ginger is renowned for its healing properties and has been shown to quell nausea and promote healthy digestion.
