Balsamic & Apple Chicken

recipes for low carb dietWe like to share recipes for a low carb diet with members of our weight loss centers so they can see for themselves that eating healthy and losing weight doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice taste. This recipe for Balsamic and Apple Chicken combines the benefits of lean protein with spices that rev our metabolism and the healing properties of aged balsamic vinegar.

We recommend lean protein to members of our weight loss centers because it helps build the lean muscle mass we need to increase our calorie burn. Chicken is an excellent source and is an ideal ingredient for recipes for a low carb diet because it’s lower in fat, carbs and sodium than beef, and is rich in essential nutrients such as vitamin B6, niacin, phosphorus  and selenium.

Using spices such as the garlic, paprika and pepper in this recipe is a great way to add flavor, while providing an array of antioxidants and boosting metabolism. Balsamic vinegar is loaded with antioxidants that boost immunity and guard against free radical damage, and has anti-inflammatory properties that prevent cardiovascular disease and some forms of cancer. In addition, studies show that Balsamic vinegar suppresses the appetite and slows down the time it takes for our stomachs to empty.
